Join us in welcoming Kadi Franson as our summer resident for 2017.

Kadi Franson is an artist, designer, educator, and all around creative type living in the Bay Area. When she is not architecting at Anderson Schwartz Architects or making art in the studio, you can find her blowing bubbles in the woods. 

Kadi is one of the co-founders of KIDmob, the mobile, kid-integrated design firm. The work of KIDmob fosters 21st Century Learning in K12 schools through innovative design workshops. She has worked in the ecological design sector, concentrating on green infrastructure projects and toxic landscape remediation proposals. She has contributed numerous volunteer hours to non-profits such as The Arts of Life, PERRO (Pilsen Environmental Rights and Reform Org), The Working Bikes Cooperative, Aspire to Inspire, and Architecture for Humanity. She has contributed ideas and proposals to ImproveSF, Participlace 2012, AFH {Un}Restricted Access, Drylands, and Design Ignites Change, among others. Her fiction book, The Paper Forester, is a part of the Joan Flasch Artists' Book Collection. 

Kadi holds a Master of Architecture degree from the California College of the Arts, where she completed a year-long thesis researching and generating design proposals for existing Superfund sites. Additionally, she earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a Sustainable Urban Design Certificate from Archeworks, where she helped turn vacant lots into pocket parksand a certificate from Yestermorrow Design Build School, where she completed the Design For Public Interest course. She is currently seeking her architectural license from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
